The system is built on the LAMP platform, but runs equally well on Windows (with WAMP). Mambo employs PHP as the scripting language. It is one of the most popular Open Source CMSes, largely due to the simple installation, the ease of use, and the wealth of options for extending the core. The system is very flexible and highly tolerant of modification. The templating is simple and effective, allowing for extensive control of a site’s look and feel. The system is backed by a nonprofit Foundation and commercial support is available from third party vendors.
