BALINALE International Film Festival has retained full service digital agency water&stone to handle online marketing for 2010. water&stone is charged with creating a new web presence for the Festival and with providing digital strategy and social media marketing.
Festival Director Deborah Gabinetti states “the Festival has been growing almost exponentially and we have reached the point where we need a world class online presence. water&stone is able to provide that for us.”
This year’s BALINALE runs from 12 to 17 October in Bali at Galeria 21 Cinema and will feature a selection of showcase releases together with a program of workshops and lectures. This is the fourth year of the Festival, which drew over 3,500 persons last year with many of the screenings sold out or standing room only.
Nalisa Sitabut, partner at water&stone adds “we love working with creative organizations like BALINALE. The festival is not only a great showcase for cinema, but also a wonderful chance for Indonesian filmmakers to receive wider exposure. BALINALE International Film Festival was established in 2007 by Yayasan Bali Taksu Indonesia, a non-profit organization founded by Christine Hakim, Indonesia’s internationally recognized film actress, and Deborah Gabinetti, director of Bali Film Center. The foundation works towards developing understanding and respect for freedom of expression, human rights and intellectual property rights and fosters cross-cultural respect and tolerance through filmmaking workshops, seminars and film festivals.
The festival gives Indonesian filmmakers an opportunity to present their work to a global audience while networking with international filmmakers. The festival also provides an opportunity to invite foreign filmmakers to screen their films while experiencing Indonesia's accommodating culture and diverse locations for possible film locations and story ideas.
